FIC ACT is a team of students who are intent on raising awareness within FIC and SFU about important topics they feel other student’s should know more about. Students in this program are passionate about issues within their community and sharing information about those issues. FIC ACT works directly with FIC's Wellness Team to plan and execute events to support our student community. Time Commitment: Weekly Team meetings, the planning, organization and execution of different events per semester, and other event volunteering duties as required. This program requires a two semester commitment, starting next semester (Spring 2025). Weekly Team Meetings will be held during the FIC Lunch period (12:30PM - 1:30PM, day to be decided). Successful applicants must be available to attend weekly meetings. Important Dates: Interview Date & Time for selected candidates are to be decided. If you have been selected, we will reach out to you individually to schedule an interview. Please make sure to check your inbox regularly so as to not miss our invite! Successful applicants will also be required to attend Student Leadership Training (SLT) on Sunday, November 17th (details to follow). Training will be held at the beginning of Spring 2025 Semester during the first team meeting. Important Notice: Students that hold Student Leadership positions within the FIC community have the ability to take advantage of the following privilege: If you are a current FIC student who becomes a member of a Student Leadership Program, you will be given priority enrolment for Spring 2025 Semester. To be able to qualify for this you must attend the interview process, and if you are selected to become a member, must attend the training days (both SLT and Program-specific training). If you are selected and do not attend training days then we will hold the right to remove you from the program. This will result in the removal of this privilege and you will be dropped from your classes. This is a privilege that must be earned and respected and the commitment is very serious.
